Love to draw animation, but don't know how to go about getting your foot in the "cartoonist" door? Well, you don't have to give up on your career dreams just yet. Reality is, there are many great ways to earn the skills and training you need to enjoy a rewarding and challenging animation career for years to come.
There are many excellent avenues available to help you pursue your animation career. And while the following list certainly doesn't contain them all, it will provide you with useful information to get you started on your career as a cartoonist.
Animation Schools.
Probably the most valuable tool you can own is a degree in animation. There are many highly qualified colleges, universities, and technical schools to choose from. Find one that meets your career goals and requirements.
Animation Magazines.
These types of publications can be found both in hard copy or online and provide an excellent wealth of resourceful information for aspiring cartoonists.
Tutorials.
You can find many tutorials and information about drawing anime. Lessons, tips, and techniques will take you through generic and specific character drawing.
Computer Animation.
Computer animation skills are certainly a "must have" talent for the aspiring cartoonist. Whether you are well-versed or just breaking into the animation field, computer animation skills are the future of cartoons.
Where Do I Start Cartooning?
Where to start is always the hardest step. Start by imitating your favorite cartoon artists. As you gain valuable experience, education, and training, you'll soon find yourself developing a style all your own with unique character designs and a lifetime of possibilities.
