So you love to write animation and wonder whether a career in animation should play a bigger part in your life? With a solid action plan, you can awaken your dream and pursue your creative passion.
If you're like most people, you probably think that pursuing your goal of an animation writer is simply too pie-in-the-sky to even consider. With life's many other aspects (possibly another job, a spouse, children, housework, etc.) pulling for your attention, who has the time? In reality, a better question would be who doesn't have the time? By putting your animation career dreams on the back burner, you'll always wonder if you had what it takes to be successful. That said, before embarking on your career in animation you must first develop a detailed action plan.
Eliminate Excuses
First things first, you must stop letting excuses get in the way of striving for what truly makes you happy. Forget that being an animation writer doesn't make sense to others, or for that matter, to you. In order to be happy and fulfilled, you need to honor your curiosities despite all the seemingly logical reasons for saying "I can't do this."
Generate Family Support
Getting started on a new and exciting career in animation doesn't mean you have to neglect your family. On the contrary, you'll probably be a better and happier parent when you are engaged in something you truly love. And that, in turn, can make you less stressed and more harmonious.
Get Proper Animation Writing Training
If you feel lacking in the latest animation writing skills and techniques, now is the time to obtain the proper training. There are many qualified universities, colleges, and technical schools that can help get you on track fast. Additionally, there are oodles of reference materials, clinics, events, and activities that can help you become more informed, generate networks, and provide advice on specific animation career paths that fit your talents and lifestyle best.
Finally, take your new animation writing career seriously. Give yourself deadlines for small goals and follow through. With the help of your family or an enlisted professional, you can live out your animation writing passion with enthusiasm and style.
